International Fund for Animal Welfare
The International Fund for Animal Welfare (IFAW) is an international organization whose mission is to protect and rescue animals around the world. IFAW’s Northern Dogs Project helps owners in remote Northern Canadian communities to care for their dogs and communities to manage their dog populations. Still, there are dogs who come south for rehoming and Buddy was one of those dogs. As Winter approaches again this year, please read about the hardships of the Northern Dogs here.
Janice Hannah, who is the Director of the Northern Dogs Projects and Senior Education & Research Specialist, combines her love of dogs and her commitment to animal welfare with the longer term goal of creating humane and sustainable community programs that improve the conditions for animals and their people. Janice Hannah and her team make it possible for dogs like Buddy to fulfill their potential and be the loving member of a family they were meant to be.
